Three steps Video2Web:

1. Encode

If you have installed free Riva FLV Encoder the import feature of Riva Producer Lite will be available. You can import AVI, MPEG, Quicktime and WMV. A detailed list can be found under http://rivavx.com?encoderhelp.

In combination with the brand new library you can batch import from Video to FLV or JPEG. This is possible through the transcode engine FFMPEG which is part of the Riva FLV Encoder. FFMPEG currently only supports FLV 1.0. The missing totaltime attribute which were added in FLV 1.1 is calculated with Riva Producer Lite so you do not have to upgrade the FLV version with any 3rd –party software.

After importing videos you can browse through your FLVs in the library. The library is the fastest way to preview the FLVs on your harddisk. Switch to any directory on your harddisk and preview your FLVs.

2. Enrich

You can enrich FLVs by adding graphics and text to the video and set hyperlinks on them. Further you can arrange and animate graphics and text on the timeline. The result is saved in a RVML file. RVML stands for Rich Video Markup Language and contains the information about video, graphics, text and animations used. The RVML is saved in XML.

The Riva Producer (big brother of Riva Producer Lite) also gives you the possibility to link between multiple videos which can be arranged on a grid. The result is a non-linear interactive video.

3. Publish

You have the possibility to publish the video with its graphics to a specified directory on a harddisk or standard webserver via FTP. Both ways offer you to choose from HTML- or Snippet-Publish. With HTML-Publish the html-file is generated (optional flash-detect). With Snippet-Publish you get a code-snippet which can be pasted into a html-file or e.g. a weblog-backend, CMS etc.

The Riva WebPlayer is always part of the publishing process. Riva WebPlayer is a Flashmovie which play FLVs and RVMLs. In the corresponding HTML-Object- and Embed-Tag the Flashvars are set to the FLV or RVML which will be loaded by WebPlayer.
